goLEAD

What is goLEAD?
goLEAD (generationOn Leadership, education, and Development program) is a 4-month youth leadership empowerment training program.  With over 60 hands-on activities, goLEAD participants will become strong leaders who are aware of their own potential, communicate well, and know different leadership styles.  They are prepared to lead and change the world around them using service-learning and will finish their year with a capstone service project they create together. Past capstone projects focused on topics such as homelessness awareness, environmental education, and low income youth.  Participants work together to find what they are passionate about, and take their new leadership and teamwork skills to create a project on their own to impact their community. Once complete, participants will be eligible to apply for Service Corps.

Who can participate?
goLEAD is open to high schoolers from Sussex, Warren, and Morris county, as long as they are interested in service and learning leadership skills.

When do you meet?
Meetings take place at the Pass It Along Teen Center from 7-8:30pm on Thursdays.  There will also be other occasional meetings or special events outside of these times.

What is the commitment?
In order to successfully complete goLEAD, participants must be able to attend at least 10 of the meetings/events.  Because of the limited space open in the program, only those who can commit their time to the program will be accepted. All participants MUST be able to attend the Orientation on October 14th from 10-3 in order to be a part of the program.

How do I apply?
Applications will be accepted from September 16th to October 8th at 5pm.  All applicants will find out if they have been accepted or not by October 9th.  Teens can apply by sending in a paper application, or by filling it out online below.
