Pass it Along Celebrates Excellence: Highlights from the Scholar Athlete Banquet

Pass it Along hosted a memorable evening at the Lake Mohawk Country Club on March 19, honoring 13 exceptional high school seniors for their achievements in academics, athletics, and volunteerism. Each student was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship in recognition of their dedication and hard work.

Family members, teachers, athletic directors, and sponsors gathered to celebrate these outstanding students, all of whom were nominated by their schools for their commitment both in and out of the classroom. A highlight of the evening was watching personal video submissions from each honoree, where they shared their journeys, accomplishments, and the values that have shaped them.

Jim Furgeson and Mike Germano had the honor of recognizing the Scholar Athletes, personally presenting each student with their award in acknowledgment of their dedication and excellence.

Adding to the inspiration, Pass it Along alumni Charlotte Pagliaro and Jason Lalk took the stage to offer words of wisdom, encouraging the students to carry their passion and perseverance into the next chapter of their lives. Each Scholar Athlete also had the opportunity to recognize a teacher, coach, or mentor who played a pivotal role in their success.

As a tribute to their achievements, each student also received a commemorative plaque, marking this milestone and celebrating their dedication to excellence. The event truly showcased the power of hard work, resilience, and community support.

Amanda Delifino of Sussex County Technical School was honored with the Teacher of Excellence Award. She shared, “I am incredibly honored to have been selected as the Teacher of Excellence to represent our senior Scholar Athlete, Tiziana Moldonado. It has been a privilege to witness her growth, determination, and commitment both on and off the field. Her dedication to academics, athletics, and leadership has been inspiring to both her teammates and coaches. I am so grateful and proud to have played a part in her story. I look forward to seeing all the amazing things she continues to accomplish at Columbia University!”

Delana Einreinhofer, recipient of the Ira Lubert Foundation Community Service Scholarship - the evening’s highest award - reflected on the experience, stating, “What a fantastic evening! The Pass it Along team was so impressive, and they do such an amazing job of bringing people together to do great work while recognizing their efforts. Being surrounded by such inspiring young women and men was an honor. To be awarded the Ira Lubert Foundation Scholarship was especially moving, and I hope to live up to the ideals of Pass it Along as I prepare for college and beyond.”
